Dr. Emad Kandil Leads Training for Accomplished Endocrinologists
We are proud to highlight a recent advanced Microwave Ablation (MWA) training session led by Dr. Emad Kandil, Professor and Ellis Hanna Chair in Surgery at Tulane Medical School. This comprehensive training program brought together two accomplished endocrinologists: Dr. Susan Fazeli, an oncologic endocrinologist at City of Hope, and Dr. Maria A. Incer Obando, an endocrinologist at University Medical Center New Orleans.
The program provided an immersive learning experience that included observing six live MWA cases and engaging in hands-on practice with the latest ablation techniques using a thyroid phantom. Dr. Kandil guided the participants through in-depth discussions and technical demonstrations, emphasizing precision, patient safety, and the clinical applications of MWA for treating thyroid nodules and other conditions.
Dr. Fazeli and Dr. Incer Obando actively participated in the training, refining their skills and gaining practical insights into this minimally invasive treatment. The session concluded with both participants being awarded Certificates of Completion, marking their commitment to advancing patient care through innovative endocrine surgery techniques.
This milestone underscores the collaborative efforts of leading experts in endocrine surgery to foster education and innovation, furthering the potential of MWA as a transformative solution for thyroid and endocrine disorders.
